About Kimberly

Kimberly Iverson grew up in Virginia and South Carolina in a loving Christian home.  She lost her mother to brain cancer when she was 15 years old, which proved to be a catalyst for deep spiritual growth as she cried out to God in her grief and sorrow. As the Lord lifted her out of depression, He filled her with an intense desire to go into the mission field. She attended James Madison University, where she intended to obtain a degree in English and get equipped to teach English in China for the rest of her life as a single missionary.  God had other plans.  She ended up falling in love with her best friend and roommate’s older brother, getting married at the beginning of her senior year of college, and then becoming pregnant with their first child before she managed to walk the platform with a diploma in her hand.  Shortly after graduating she followed her remarkable husband, Danny, to Newark, NJ, where they helped restart a church (that had previously died due to the hard and dangerous neighborhood) and start a nonprofit organization for at-risk youth there.  After five years of laboring there, and 3.5 kids later (they were pregnant with #4), God called them to Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL, where they could get better equipped for long term inner city ministry and raise up a team to go back with them. See how all this changed here and here. They now reside in Norcross, GA (right outside of Atlanta) and are doing a church planting residency program with Perimeter Church before they launch an inner city, multi-cultural church plant. Kimberly loves kids and has a heart to see them know and love God through His Word. She enjoys teaching her children, Daniel Josiah (7), Trinity (5), Katy-Grace (4),  Benjamin Zion (2) and Malachi (1.5) about their Maker and Redeemer.  They are her greatest disciples. Her passion is to see the Name of Jesus exalted in dark places (including her own heart!), and to see the lost redeemed by the power of the Risen Christ.

Loved reading the two most recent posts, and Daniel Josiah’s 3rd b-day party. 🙂 I’m glad you’re writing your heart. I look forward to keeping up with it. Love, M

Hi AmberE, Thank you for your encouraging words. I pray that any of the things I wrestle through on this journey may help encourage fellow sojourners. God bless you!
